Tropical Woods from Suriname

We believe that exceptional doors start with exceptional wood. That’s why we work exclusively with highquality hardwoods that you can see and feel up close in our showroom. Every grain, tone and texture is carefully selected to ensure durability, stability and a warm, timeless look in your home.

Among the species we use most often are Basralocus, Zwarte Kabbes and Cedar. Basralocus, a dense tropical hardwood from Suriname, offers excellent strength and rich colour, making it ideal for doors that need to perform in a humid climate.

Basralocus (Angelique) Renowned for its exceptional durability and resistance to marine borers and decay. It features a golden to rust-brown color with a straight or slightly interlocked grain, making it the perfect choice for high-exposure exterior doors.

Zwarte Kabbes (Tatabu) A dense, heavy hardwood with a striking dark brown to chocolate complexion, often accented by lighter streaks. Its natural luster and stability make it a favorite for elegant, high-impact interior pivot doors.

Gele Kabbes (Angelim da Mata) Characterized by its warm yellowish-brown tones and a coarse but even texture. It offers excellent structural strength, providing a bright and welcoming aesthetic for both modern and traditional designs.

Rode Kabbes (Andira) Known for its beautiful reddish-brown hue and high resistance to wear. Its distinct grain pattern and hardness make it ideal for heavy-duty doors that require both longevity and a sophisticated, deep-colored finish.

In our showroom, you can explore each of these woods in detail: touch the surfaces, compare finishes and see how the colours change in natural light. Our team is there to guide you through the options and help you choose the right wood for your doors, based on design, usage and the specific conditions of your project.
